Details

The Nature Lab is a hands-on interactive gallery with live animals, media, scientist demonstrations including over 200 specimens and live animals. The Nature Lab is a hub of investigation where visitors of all ages can participate in real scientific research, learn scientific methods, engage in hands-on activities that build observation skills and ultimately learn “to see nature through new eyes”.

My responsibilities included overseeing the content development, design, fabrication and installation and overall budget management. I worked with a large team of museum curators, technical writers, content developers, educators, media producers, designers, coordinators, live animal handlers and exhibit technicians.

Words

“In the new Nature Lab the old museum natural history genre has been turned on its head: this is not a narrative of an all-seeing culture evolving out of the wilds of nature, but of a culture tentatively trying to find its way into nature. The lab’s exhibits are among the most successful I have seen for children in a science museum.”
